The story of the chocolate Panel is the story
of the family;
The story of the family Panel is the story of
a passion for the chocolate!
Jean-Claude PANEL,
the current chocolate master and manager of the company, since his youngest
age, has lived in a house filled with the aroma of chocolate.
He is the 3rd generation of chocolate makers, as he was
preceded by his father Fleury and his grandfather Jean-Pierre.
Jean Pierre began
his work with chocolate at the end of the 19th century. Started as a winter
season activity and in the form of small chocolate balls, the success of his
candy soon allowed him to open his first shop with his wife, Marie.
This shop was located in Givors and called “Aux Délices";
there you could find chocolates, dragees…
At
the time of Jean-Pierre death, his unique son Fleury was a 19-year-old
young man with two passions: rugby and chocolate.
He managed to pursue them both and to become famous in both
domains. He was a two-time rugby champion of France, and the manager of a
prosperous company thanks to the creation of a specialty: “ Les Galets du Rhone ®”
His chocolate factory and his shop, ran by his wife, Marthe,
were located in Givors and attracted regional clientele.
It is quite natural that Jean-Claude, his son, learned not only
the profession, but most importantly, the trade secrets of the “Galets du
Rhone” and those of the other chocolates composing his wide collection.
With his wife Jacqueline, the future of the chocolate factory is
certain and is going to open to the world: United Arab Emirates, England,
United States, Japan, Korea …
